Chưa áp dụng cho iPhone 4S và iPad2 (chip A5).

- Các máy LOCK sử dụng Gevey Sim và Ultrasn0w chỉ được RESTORE CUSTOM FIRMWARE không nâng baseband bằng PwnageTool_5.0.1.dmg, xem hướng dẫn tại: iClarified.com.

- Các máy 5.0 hoặc các iOS 5 beta đã Jailbreak Tethered trước đó phải RESTORE 5.0.1 gốc và Set As New iPhone cho sạch.

- Các máy 5.0.1 đã Jailbreak Tethered trước đó nên RESTORE lại 5.0.1 gốc và Set As New iPhone cho sạch.
Hoặc dùng Redsn0w 0.9.10b3 "Jailbreak đè" không chọn Install Cydia và làm các thao tác tiếp theo.
Hoặc vào Cydia>Search: Corona 5.0.1, 1.0-3 Telesphoreo, để fix Untethered cho máy Tethered.
Sau khi installed sẽ phải upgrade các files: Cydia Installer 1.1-3, Mobile Subtrate 0.9.3993 và UIKit Tools 1.1-3.
Tuy nhiên Dev-Team khuyến cáo nên Restore lại 5.0.1 và JB Untethered với Redsn0w 0.9.10b3 là tốt nhất.
- Các máy 4.x.x phải RESTORE 5.0.1 và Set as New iPhone nếu không khi JB có thể bị treo cáp dĩa.

Update #3: Phiên bản b3 của redsn0w fix lỗi bị treo Mobile Subtrate khi redsn0w jailbreak đè lên máy đã JB b1 & b2, phiên bản này giúp Mobile Subtrate hoạt động. Hiện bạn có thể chạy các bước jailbreak đè vô tư (nhưng vẫn nhớ bỏ đừng chọn "Install Cydia" nếu thấy đang chọn).

MẸO: Chắc ăn hãy luôn chọn firmware 5.0.1 trong Extras>Select IPSW để Redsn0w khỏi báo lỗi không tìm thấy identifing data.

Update #3: The b3 version of redsn0w fixes a problem where re-running redsn0w over an existing jailbreak would cause MobileSubstrate-based apps to stop running until MS was installed again. Now you can re-run the redsn0w jailbreak step without worrying about that (but still remember to de-select the “Install Cydia” option if it’s already installed).

TIP: If auto-detection fails and redsn0w tells you no identifying data was found, you can always pre-select the appropriate 5.0.1 IPSW using “Extras->Select IPSW”.

Update #2: The b2 version of redsn0w includes the launchctl-related fix by @planetbeing as mentioned by @saurikhere and here. As usual, you can just re-run redsn0w in jailbreak mode over your existing 5.0.1 jailbreak (even a PwnageTool one), making sure to de-select “Install Cydia” if you do. Always be sure to do a controlled “slide to power off” shutdown of your device before running redsn0w.
